Type of Vendor Definition

Retail Shop is a business that offers a full line of reef products to the retail market. These can be traditional physical stores and/or virtual online retail web sites.

Retail Farmer is a business that generates a majority of its income from reef farming. These range from large scale home farms to reef farms operating within industrial locations.

Farming Business is a business that generates a 2/3 majority of its income from reef farming. These typically are full time dedicated farmers that report income to the IRS classified as farmers.

Aquarist Farmer is typically an individual hobbyist that may trade farmed reef fragments. Some may even sell a few fragments every year. A few of these individuals may have a business license and some may even have a state sellers permit.

Mariculture Company is a business that produces either physical goods or farmed organisms for the captive reef market. The physical goods typically support captive systems utilized to promote coral or reef organism growout. Farmed organisms can range from coral to jellyfish. Booths are typically used to promote the companies name, product or trade mark to the retail market.

Hobbyist Organization is a local non-profit reef club or society. Historically these groups have been instrumental in promoting coral farming by holding frag swaps. The Coral Farmers Market company supports some of these groups with informational tables where they can promote their organization and raise funds by selling some farmed corals during the NW-CFM event. In return, we expect that they will promote this event at meetings and provide the NW-CFM with a web site link. Please note - Only 2 tickets are given to each organization. Other organization members will need to purchase tickets to enter the event.
